Mira Keramiek

Mijn visie

Mijn werk begint bij wat je voelt in je hand: gewicht, textuur, warmte. Hier deel ik hoe ik keramiek maak die bedoeld is om elke dag vast te houden, te gebruiken en langzaam eigen te maken.

Een visie om vast te houden

Ik maak voorwerpen die blijven staan tot ze worden opgepakt. Die een functie hebben. Die het gewone leven aankunnen en daar mooier van worden.

Het gaat mij om gewicht in de hand, om textuur, om een rand die prettig drinkt en een oor dat vanzelf op zijn plek valt. Om een deuk waar precies je duim in past. Een mok die warmte vasthoudt. Een schaal die telkens opnieuw op tafel verschijnt. Door gebruik krijgt een voorwerp karakter en betekenis.

Met aandacht gemaakt, bedoeld om deel te worden van dagelijkse rituelen. Niet voor in een vitrinekast, maar voor op tafel, in de keuken en in de hand.
